Q. What is behavioral health credentialing and contracting?

A.  Behavioral health credentialing is the important and necessary process of obtaining, verifying and assessing the qualifications of a  provider who will provide patient care services in or for a behavioral health organization. Contracting is obtaining approval to accept benefits from a particular insurance company.

Q.  Do I get to choose which insurance panels I want to be on?

A.  Yes, when you sign up for our credentialing service we will work with you to be approved with multiple insurance panels in your area. Typically you want to be on 6-9 different insurance panels, but we will assess your needs as to which panels are best for business.

Q.  How long do I have to wait after being licensed to be accepted by an insurance panel?

A.  If you are already fully licensed and your CAQH profile has been set up most insurance panels will accept you right away. There are some insurance panels that require specific experience requirements, but your our team can help you navigate those insurance panels.
